When I picked up this dresser I knew exactly what I was going to do with it. I love the creamy whites and light colours when I paint, but this piece just needed to be done in black. So classy…
The drawer pulls however needed to stand out. I love the details on these moustache handles. That’s what makes this dresser so special.
I painted it in Annie Sloan Chalk Paint in Graphite. This is a wonderful black/charcoal that is not too hard of a black.
The dresser was made by the F.C. Burroughes Furniture Co. The Burroughes Building was built in Toronto, Canada, in 1907 with an addition in 1910, as the flagship department store for the F.C. Burroughes Furniture Company Limited. Part of the building is now used for special events. Don’t you just love the old advertising on the wall? Check out the website theburroughes.com, there are some great pictures.
